Though not specifically dark ambient music, a lot of the things I'll be performing
are in formed by that sensibility.
I'm the moderator of this tribe so I'm obviously not moderating this slightly OT
topic, but if anyone really objects, I'll withdraw it immediately in the interest of fairness.

Wed, June 24, 2009 - 4:19 PMWow, intence....... There seems to be more and more interest in this type of experimental/ambient music.I think your fear of non-interest is just unfounded fear. Your Material is AWESOME. Imagine Bob Moog's fear. Now imagine where POP music would be without Bob Moog.
I'd really be interested in trading some CD's and sounds and working on a composition together. Let me know.....
Thanks for continuing the march toward the New.

Re: music for toy music boxes/conch shell/tuning forks/overtone flutes/megaphones/human voice & distortion
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 10:13 PMThank you TyRone,
Your reply just totally made my day.
It is interesting what you said about fear. I've tried in the last five years of my life to take the single thing that scares the crap out of me
and force my self to take it on, ritualistically.
It always scares me and I always get really nice results from forcing myself to to it.
It's funny that we don't necessarily ever escape the things that trigger us emotionally (perhaps they are hardwired from younger
more impressionable and usually dysfunctional years) but that we do have the choice to take stuff on.
Viz a vis working on collaborative stuff, I have to let you know that I"m working on several collaborative projects right now and having a hard time finishing up the several CD and DVD projects that I want to release in the next couple of years so I just don't have a lot of time.
Never say never, though, so I'd be interested to hear what you are up to in your musical life.
to hear more of what I've been doing there is my website:
www.looppool.info (Which is a bit pathetically in need of an upgrade) but there are a lot of musical samples there
and there are these three youtube channels that I have
www.youtube.com/looppool which has my lo fi , toy digital abstract video 'animations' of my recent Abstract Electronica
(and a spattering of Dark Ambient material)
www.youtube.com/rickwalkerlivelooper which has the aforementioned experimental tracks from my last performance at the
Luggage Store Experimental Music Series
www.youtube.com/DaygloOrangePlastic which has live tracks from my found sound/live looping tour of 8 countries in Europe last summer. I should be posting more videos from my recent tour of Italy and Belgium as I recieve them from the videographers.
And finally, a bit of a one off, but here is the track that won me a trip to Japan to perform at the Kobe Underground Music Festival
and a spot on their annual Goth compilation
www.looppool.info/UltraViolette
Okay, enjoy and thanks, again, for the kind and inspirational words. They give me the courage to keep going as an artist in this world
where noone pays for music much anymore. -
